From your PASSION to ours

The Laboratory Lead will assist the Laboratory Manager with daily lab activities. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, be able to lead a team of Technicians, and have an understanding of product quality and food safety.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

* Assist the Manager and help the Laboratory Technicians as needed.

* Assist the department in establishing policies and procedures, assist in training and auditing the Laboratory Technicians on policies and procedures.

* Record laboratory analytical data.

* Analyze and report on results in a timely manner with emphasis on any results out of specifications.

* Assist in monitoring lab performance repeatability, precision, and accuracy for all analyses performed in chemistry and microbiology.

* Assist in monitoring IR and NIR equipment.

* Assist in installation and use of new equipment, including setup, calibration, evaluation, and training.

* Responsible for overseeing the metrology of laboratory measuring equipment and devices.

* Alert the manager when there are deviations in results, help with root cause analysis, and take corrective actions.

* Adjust sampling plans, review and update SOPs, and record forms as needed.

* Shifts and hours may vary at times if support is needed on other shifts.

* Additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

From your STORY to ours

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science/Chemistry/Biology, or related field preferred

Experience:

* Minimum 4 years of experience as a laboratory technician preferred.

* Proficient in chemistry and microbiology practices

* Food/Dairy industry laboratory experience

* Knowledgeable in computer systems and Microsoft Office

* Proficient in statistical methods used for interpreting data

Professional Certifications and/or License:

* License: Appendix N Industry Supervisor
