Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Property Patrol in Cary, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal supporting a government education location as an unarmed patrol officer. You will conduct routine patrols across buildings and grounds, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and assist staff, students, and visitors with clear communication and respectful customer service. Working as part of a team, you will document observations, report concerns, and respond to incidents with integrity, reliability, and a people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, students, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government education location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points by observing visitor check-in and/or delivery activity, verifying identification or authorization when required, and directing individuals to appropriate locations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Operate and/or monitor security-related systems and equipment such as radios, access control, and alarm panels, and complete shift logs and incident reports in accordance with Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
