We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Security Control Center Operator for our Physical Security team. This position is located in Altamont, NY. What you'll do

As Security Control Center Operator, you'll ensure that all SCC monitoring and notification processes, policies and procedures are executed properly during the assigned shift. This position entails shift work involving monthly schedule rotations for day, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Dispatch appropriate security personnel or law enforcement officers to investigate alarms.
  • Assist in intelligence and data collection.
  • Provide instructions to security guards as necessary.
  • Write Incident Reports and Service Tickets.
  • Disseminate notifications of credible threats as instructed by the Senior Security Management or established protocols.
  • Coordinate security operations with gas/electric control centers to ensure compliance with US and UK Corporate Emergency Planning policy and procedures.
  • Travel to the back-up Security Control Center in Altamont, NY may be required, or to the Northborough, MA SCC if stationed at the Altamont, NY Back-up SCC.
About you
  • Associate degree in related field of study or 2+ years of security related experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of corporate security computer systems, including electronic access controls, intrusion detection alarms and closed-circuit TV.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, familiarity with standard security communication protocols and equipment, and a demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to critically think during difficult circumstances and incidents.
  • Ability to manage daily operations if Supervisor is not on shift.

Salary

$68,000- $79,000 a year

National Grid utilizes an assessment that evaluates the job qualifications/characteristics using AI or statistically based scoring. For more information, please view NYC Local Law 144.
