Description

Leidos CIO Services has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Asset Administrator Intern, supporting the IT Asset Management (ITAM) team. The Software Asset Administrator Intern will support maintaining accurate software entitlement records, assisting with compliance tracking, and supporting day-to-day software lifecycle operations. This role ensures software licenses are properly recorded, allocated, reconciled, and documented in accordance with organizational policies and licensing agreements. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance, mitigating risks, and optimizing software usage, while also contributing to cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with closing the backlog of software request tickets by reviewing requests, validating entitlements, and supporting fulfillment workflows
  • Add and maintain publisher records within ServiceNow SAM Pro entitlements to ensure accurate license tracking
  • Perform software catalog and product model clean-up activities to improve data quality and normalization accuracy
  • Support End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) remediation efforts by identifying impacted software and assisting with tracking and documentation
  • Identify low-usage or unused software installations to support reclamation and cost optimization initiatives
  • Execute software reclamation activities, including documentation updates and license reallocation tracking
  • Assist with maintaining accurate entitlement and license records within ServiceNow
  • Support reporting efforts related to software usage, reclamation, and compliance
  • Participate in team meetings and document assigned action items
  • Assist with maintaining documentation repositories and updating work instructions as needed

Learning Opportunities:

  • Hands-on exposure to ServiceNow SAM Pro
  • Introduction to software license lifecycle management
  • Experience supporting compliance and cost optimization initiatives
  • Practical understanding of software normalization, entitlements, and reclamation processes
  • Exposure to enterprise IT governance and asset management best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Engineering or related field
  • US citizenship required
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow documented processes and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in IT systems, data management, or asset governance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools
  • Basic understanding of software licensing concepts
  • Interest in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM)

Pay Range:Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
