The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing advanced manufacturing processes to support both new product development and mature production programs. This role combines hands-on engineering with digital tools, automation, and lean principles to drive efficiency, quality, and innovation. Working collaboratively across engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams, the Manufacturing Engineer ensures manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement manufacturing processes for precision-machined parts and subassemblies.
  • Develop and validate CNC programs, tooling, and digital work instructions to meet engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineering during product development to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency (Concurrent Engineering).
  • Support implementation of robotics, additive manufacturing, and automation systems.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and drive process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Conduct time studies and establish accurate setup/run standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve technical challenges and optimize external operations.
  • Provide technical support to resolve shop floor issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new proposals and recommend process improvements to reduce costs.

To be considered forthe Manufacturing Engineer role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate's degree with 7 years of relevant professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of proven professional experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, and GD&T.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Experience with ERP systems and digital manufacturing platforms.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and additive manufacturing.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Aerospace or precision machining preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across teams and build strong relationships.
  • Innovation: Creative approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Leadership: Skilled in mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
