Position Summary

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a curious and motivated Junior AI Developer to join our Global Accounting Organization and play important role with AI Initiative. Embedded within the Corporate Accounting organization, you will work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and accounting - building intelligent tools, automating workflows, and helping transform how our accounting team operates.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with finance, business and accounting stakeholders, translating business problems into technical solutions, and building practical AI-powered tools using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. You will work closely with various cross-functional teams - making strong communication and teamwork skills just as important as technical ability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical

  • Develop AI agents, intelligent automation tools, and internal applications supporting accounting use cases such as close automation, transaction processing, reconciliation, journal entry preparation and review, and variance analysis, among many others.

  • Implement AI workflows integrating accounting and financial data with enterprise systems (Oracle, Blackline, HFM, Incorta).

  • Build and maintain Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate) for AI-assisted accounting workflows.

  • Contribute across the full project lifecycle: ideation, prototyping, testing, deployment, and continuous iteration.

  • Support data engineering tasks including ingestion, transformation, and pipeline development using Azure SQL environment.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that connect financial source systems with AI models and reporting tools.

  • Assist with Power BI reporting and dashboards to support accounting and finance decision-making.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across financial AI applications in alignment with SOX control requirements.

  • Participate in model evaluation, performance tuning, and responsible AI practices.

  • Monitor model performance, detect drift, and support AI observability in production environments.

  • Apply responsible AI principles including fairness, transparency, and auditability - especially critical in regulated financial environments.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Partner closely with accounting and other business stakeholders - including Close & Control, General Ledger, SEC Reporting, FP&A, Shared Service Centers, and IT - to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Work in a team-oriented, agile environment alongside data engineers, business analysts, and accounting transformation managers.

  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - able to explain AI concepts to accounting professionals and accounting concepts to engineers.

  • Participate in cross-functional working sessions, sprint reviews, and project updates.

  • Share knowledge with teammates and contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented culture.

  • Support and take initiative on ad hoc requests and special projects as directed by Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications and Chief Accounting Officer.

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain thorough documentation, code quality, and best development practices.

  • Contribute to the development of process and procedure documentation for AI-supported accounting workflows.

  • Support internal audit, external audit, and compliance readiness by ensuring AI tools align with SOX controls and data governance policies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Junior to mid-level experience (0-3 years) in software development, AI/ML, or data engineering.

  • Proficiency in Python and/or C#; comfort working with SQL and REST APIs.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, Claude Services, and other AI models

  • Experience with API development, microservices, and enterprise integrations.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Positive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn from accounting and finance domain experts.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing requirements.

Preferred

  • Exposure to accounting or finance domain knowledge (e.g., understanding of close processes, reconciliations, or financial reporting).

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise financial systems such as Oracle, Incorta, Blackline, or HFM.

  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, or Power BI.

  • Experience with Python scripting, SQL scripting.

  • Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) for workflow automation.

  • Understanding of agent-based systems, workflow orchestration, or active learning pipelines.

  • Knowledge of data governance, model monitoring, and responsible AI principles.

  • Experience in a corporate finance, accounting, or audit environment is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance, financial controls, or audit processes.
