Position Overview:


The Brand Finance Manager supports the Business Unit (BU) and leadership team by providing financial insight, analysis, and decision support to drive profitable growth and operational performance. Reporting into the Finance organization, this role acts as the day-to-day financial partner to the BU, helping translate business plans into forecasts, evaluate trade-offs, and improve financial outcomes through strong analysis and collaboration. The role balances analytical rigor with commercial understanding and cross-functional partnership.

Responsibilities:

Business Partnership & Decision Support


  • Serve as the primary finance point of contact for the BU, partnering closely with the BU Lead and functional leaders.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support:
    • Pricing and margin decisions
    • Trade spend and promotional effectiveness
    • Customer, channel, and product profitability
    • Inventory Management

  • Identify & understand key cost drivers across materials, labor, overhead, and logistics.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify key drivers behind forecasts, variances, costs, and productivity to strengthen insights and future forecasting.
  • Support evaluation of new initiatives, business cases, and growth opportunities.


Financial Planning & Performance Management


  • Lead the BU's annual budget, rolling forecast, and periodic outlook updates.
  • Prepare and explain monthly financial results, including:

o Variance analysis vs. budget and forecast

o Key performance cost drivers and trends


  • Support monthly business reviews by highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Help improve forecast accuracy and financial transparency for the BU.


Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Support


  • Act as the finance lead for the BU as part of the weekly/monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, partnering across:
    • Demand planning, Supply planning, and Production, Materials, and Resource (PMR) planning

  • Translate demand and supply scenarios into financial impacts, including revenue, margin, inventory, and net working capital implications.
  • Support scenario planning by quantifying tradeoffs related to:
    • Capacity constraints
    • Service level decisions
    • Inventory positioning
    • Cost and margin impacts

  • Provide financial input and validation during IBP meetings to support fact-based decision-making, balancing margin and liquidity.


Commercial & Operational Analysis


  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to understand volume, mix, pricing, and end-to-end cost drivers.
  • Analyze manufacturing and supply chain impacts on BU financial performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by quantifying financial benefits tied to cost reduction, productivity, and efficiency efforts.
  • Track and report on key KPIs, ensuring insights are clear, relevant, and actionable.


Process, Reporting & Continuous Improvement


  • Develop and maintain financial models and reporting tools to support BU decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure alignment with finance policies, controls, and standard processes.


Collaboration & Communication


  • Work cross-functionally to ensure financial implications (margin & liquidity) are understood and considered in BU decisions .
  • Clearly communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders in a practical, business-focused way.
  • Escalate key risks or issues to finance leadership as appropriate.


Qualifications:

Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting/FP&A supporting a CPG brand, business unit or scaled manufacturing platform.
  • Proven experience managing and analyzing the full P&L, from gross sales through net revenue, with deep exposure to gross-to-net drivers, cost accounting, inventory and working capital management and margin analysis.
  • Strong track record of cross-functional partnership with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Cost Accounting, and Supply Chain to support forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, profitability initiatives, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; Excel proficiency, including advanced functions and modeling, is critical for success.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ownership mentality for the brand.


Preferred


  • CPG, food & beverage, or consumer products experience
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with extensive experience translating analytics into actionable insights
  • Exposure to ERP or planning systems

  • BU leaders rely on you to proactively provide clear, timely insights rooted in analytics.
  • Ability to lead cross functional work streams, stepping beyond traditional finance responsibilities to drive progress across operations, sales, supply planning and execution.
  • Robust understanding of forecasts including drivers across all line items.
  • Financial tradeoffs are surfaced early and clearly.
  • Decisions improve because finance is involved before, not after.
  • Deeply engaged in the business - actively thinking about performance, visiting stores, conducting research and seeking real world insight.


Hours, Location and Pay:

We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. Standard business hours apply; however, additional time may be required as business needs dictate. This position works out of our Little Chute, WI manufacturing facility.
