CORP - PAYROLL MANAGER

Competency: Payroll (90%)

- Manages and oversees all aspects of the bi-weekly payroll submission and disbursement, including EDD claims, garnishments and taxes.

- Works closely with People Resources for functions and duties that interrelate.

- Manages and resolves issues relating to payroll processing.

- Timely processes and reports on all federal, state and local payroll taxes.

- Responsible to create/modify configuration of all Time Off policies in Payroll.

- Adds/maintains all Earning and Deduction codes in Payroll system.

- Creates best-practice payroll operations by reviewing and analyzing current processes.

- Performs audits, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings.

- Updates systems to reflect legal and operational changes.

- Maintains confidentiality.

- Maintains payroll guidelines and documentation.

- Completes month, quarter and year-end compliance reviews.

- Manages 401k and Workers Compensation audits.

Competency: Finance/General Ledger (10%)

- Responds to all Labor queries from Finance.

- Prepares monthly PTO Liability and Workers Compensation reports.

- Assists Finance on projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- 4-year college degree preferred (Accounting/Finance).

- 5-7 years managing multi-site, multi-state payroll.

- Knowledge of payroll tax laws.

- Supervisory experience preferred.

- Automated payroll system experience required.

- Strong computer, analytic, communication skills.
