The Role

The Senior Administrator, Human Resources Operations is a key member of the team dedicated to service and support of our Save the Children US employees. In this role, you will help the HR team facilitate critical functions to ensure we are able to attract, retain, coach, reward, and develop staff who deliver our mission for children at home and abroad. This role will provide critical services with every function of Human Resources, requiring a high focus on detail and service, a commitment to our agency values of Accountability, Ambition, Creativity, Collaboration, and Integrity, and a willingness to work across the HR team and the organization to deliver outstanding services and support for our employees.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

HRIS Administration (60%)



  • Analyze HRIS systems to identify opportunities for improvement and better alignment with ever-changing Save the Children United States (SCUS) and SCI policies and procedures.
  • Develop effective relationships and business processes across departments including Payroll, HRBPs & Divisions and at times serve as the liaison.
  • Provide primary support for processing batch employee record updates.
  • Ensure data entry processes & procedures are documented and in-line with Save the Children policies.
  • Develop best practices, share resources, and participate in ongoing trainings in coordination with P&C.
  • Liaise with Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience teams to ensure that all new hires are entered and reflected correctly in the HRIS system, providing updates to Business & Technology Solutions and Building Operations teams as necessary, collaborating with the Payroll team to ensure employee details are accurately reflected in employee paychecks.
  • Maintain physical and electronic personnel files and records: upload and file documents as appropriate to HRIS system and secured data files. Initiate employment actions within HRIS system and facilitate conclusion of employment process including letters to terminated staff as instructed by HR Business Partner team.
  • Track and maintain Human Resources compliance information, such as ensuring current federal, state, and local job posters are posted appropriately throughout office locations, provide support to internal and external audit requests


HR Help Desk (20%)



  • Support internal and external HR assistance requests, providing triage (and escalation as necessary) for all internal and external assistance requests, including monitoring and providing first line support to HR Help Desk, email and phone queries for information such as employment verifications, unemployment claims, information, etc.


Data Reporting and Analysis (10%)



  • Support internal reporting and analysis requests of employee data to generate accurate, timely insights that inform workforce decisions while upholding data privacy and governance standards.


Other Support (10%)



  • Review and update HR content on the employee intranet (Sharepoint)
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects as appropriate and assigned


Required qualifications for the role



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience or education
  • Requires skills and proficiency in a range of processes, procedures and systems to carry out assigned tasks or has developed deep skills in a single area.
  • Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team; uses discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency.
  • Proficiency using an HRIS system (preferably UKG Pro)
  • Proven ability to analyze workflows and implement process improvement
  • Ability to successfully organize and balance multiple and sometimes competing operational priorities
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high degree of internal and external customer service and collaboration
  • Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism around sensitive information
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally


Preferred qualifications for the role



  • Has developed proficiency or specialized skills in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Completes a variety of atypical assignments, as needed, with a limited degree of supervision
  • Experience or study in Human Resources function
  • Experience building reports, visualizations, and datasets in Power BI


Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $60,775 - $67,925 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $53,975 - $60,325 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $49,725 - $55,575 base salary


    The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
