JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager, E-Commerce's (ASM) role will support Goodwill's mission by managing a team of associates in the planning, scheduling, and execution of tasks, projects, and assignments to meet and exceed performance and budget expectations. This role will assist in managing the daily operations of Goodwill's E-Commerce and E-Books warehouse. The ASM works alongside acts in the manager's absence to uphold and enforce policies and procedures. The ASM is responsible for the monitoring, tracking, and communication of performance metrics; compliance and documentation creation and tracking; and the staffing, training, and managing of their team. The ASM will empower others and manage a diverse department and staff. This role will be held accountable for personal performance and for the performance of the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • The ASM staffs, trains, and manages individual direct reports to achieve individual and departmental goals.
  • Tracks and reports to warehouse and executive management effectively and consistently.
  • Meets or exceeds minimum productivity standards and expectations/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned duties.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on associate performance and KPIs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to associates, management, and executive staff.
  • Oversee daily operations of all functional areas either personally or through delegation. This includes but is not limited to the warehouse floor, and product and staff workflow.
  • Communicates team and individual goals to meet or exceed daily production goals clearly and consistently. Ensures team is aware of goals and accomplishments.
  • Adheres to and enforces corporate, departmental, and functional area policies and procedures and addresses any deviation or noncompliance.
  • Acts as one of the department's Safety Representative and acts as a model of safety for all employees ensuring the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and CARF standards. Additionally, they will participate in monthly corporate safety meetings, training, and inspections; completing required reports as needed.
  • Recommend changes to operational procedures in order to achieve maximized expense to revenue ratios.
  • Maintains a functional awareness of competition and retail trends, being able to suggest appropriate courses of action.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of the E-Commerce platform.
  • Works with the management team to ensure we make the best use of our resources.
  • Directly responsible for the hiring, performance management, employee goal setting, and termination recommendations.
  • Partners with the Manager and the Director to conduct meetings for employee training, awareness, and knowledge transfer.
  • Displays initiative, effort, and commitment to carrying out Goodwill's mission; inspires, motivates, and guides others in a proactive achievement-oriented manner.
  • Ensure duties are completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.
  • Builds and maintains effective quality working relationships with management, co-workers, customers, and donors. Uses effective written and verbal communication. Uses good interpersonal skills treating everyone with dignity and respect. Promotes and demonstrates positive teamwork and cooperation.
  • Adapts and uses technology as it becomes available to operate efficiently. This includes but is not limited to processing automation and platform updates and/or changes.
  • Maintain, track, and report consumable resources, reporting needs, acquiring inventory, and ensuring that needed resources are available, stations are fully and consistently supplied, and inventory levels support daily needs without fail.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to provide a safe and efficient workflow for employees and customers.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of, adheres to and implements Goodwill and department policies and procedures, the Employee Handbook, and safety standards.
  • Uses and becomes certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly or other equipment or tools to effectively train, oversee safety standards, move and store donated when needed.
  • Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation.
  • Works flexible schedules, weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:



  • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.



Experience:



  • A minimum of one (1) year of direct report management experience is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years operational or production management in a light manufacturing warehouse environment or similar is preferred.



Other:



  • Ability to use organizational skills to manage multiple projects, people and warehouse.
  • An understanding of production processes and the environment, including deadlines, quality control, working in a quick and efficient manner and empowering staff to produce products in a timely manner.
  • The ability to create, review and understand warehouse and organization reports to increase the efficiency and success of the warehouse.
  • Must possess the ability to adapt, adjust, and mold to changing circumstances.
  • Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers through verbal and electronic means.
  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, reaching, and bending up to 8 hours per day.
  • Uses and becomes certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly or other equipment or tools to effectively train, oversee safety standards, move and store donated when needed.
  • Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation.
  • Must have the ability to work varied schedules which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed with occasional overtime. In coordination with the Manager must be able to work any hours necessary to provide complete warehouse coverage and supervision.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.



*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.
