As the Senior Buyer you will be responsible for strategic procurement and material planning of complex and critical raw materials to support equipment installations and service. You will work with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, cost effectiveness and high service levels while resolving complex procurement challenges. In addition to core purchasing responsibilities you will mentor and train junior supply chain teammates, provide work direction and represent Supply Chain in cross-functional initiatives. Rooted in Our Values you will combine supplier management expertise, analytical skills and leadership to strengthen Ascentek's supply chain performance and support business growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop and execute supply and demand planning strategies to support production and business demand
  • Submit purchase orders, monitor costs and maintain optimal inventory levels for assigned materials
  • Partner with strategic sourcing, operations and quality teams to track supplier performance and implement cost savings initiatives
  • Negotiate and manage long-term pricing agreements on critical commodities
  • Coordinate inbound logistics and optimize receiving schedules for raw materials
  • Resolve supplier delivery issues quickly to minimize impact on operations
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular reviews and process improvements
  • Collect and maintain commodity data such as specifications, pricing, market and sourcing information
  • Approve invoices and resolve discrepancies when required
  • Onboard, train and mentor new supply chain teammates, providing work direction and assessing proficiency
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and represent Supply Chain on enterprise projects
  • Provide backup for planning, scheduling, procurement, sourcing and logistics functions as needed
  • Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and quarterly business reviews
  • Support process improvement projects to enhance procurement efficiency and cost control



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement or related field preferred


Experience and/or Training:



  • 7+ years of experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing or supply and demand planning
  • Experience working in construction, mobile service, or distribution environment


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in demand forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply chain and inventory management
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as JD Edwards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior teammates


      • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPM, CPSM or CIPS certification
      • Experience leading supplier risk management or cost reduction initiatives
      • Knowledge of international sourcing and freight logistics
      • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies



      Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:



      • Frequent sitting, talking, hearing and use of hands for computer and office work
      • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds such as files or small packages
      • Close vision and ability to adjust focus
      • Continuous reasoning, decision-making and math skills
      • Work performed primarily in an office environment with occasional time in warehouse or manufacturing settings that may experience heat or noise



      The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $90,000 and $100,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:



      1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
      2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
      3. Market and industry benchmarks: We compare compensation packages with industry standards to ensure we are competitive.
