Complex aviation programs require clear insight, disciplined analysis, and strong alignment between data and decision-making. Peraton is seeking a Business Analyst Lead to guide analytical strategy and performance oversight for high-visibility programs supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As a senior analytical leader, you will transform complex program data into strategic insight while mentoring analysts and strengthening analytical capabilities across the organization.

Work Location:

    This position is 100% on-site, primarily located in Herndon, VA, with an alternate work location available in Bowie, MD. Candidates must be able to work on-site at one of these locations based on program requirements.

Your Impact:

In this leadership role, you will ensure program objectives remain aligned with operational, financial, and performance expectations. You will establish performance baselines, oversee integrated scheduling insights, and deliver advanced analytical reporting that enables leadership to make informed decisions.

Program Performance & Strategic Alignment

  • Establish and maintain program performance baselines aligned with strategic objectives and operational priorities. Monitor program performance across schedule, scope, and cost metrics. Ensure initiatives remain aligned with authorized program scope, timeline, and budget. Support leadership in maintaining strategic alignment across multiple program workstreams.

Operational & Financial Analysis

  • Conduct deep-dive operational and financial variance analyses to identify emerging risks and performance trends. Identify systemic risks and operational inefficiencies affecting program execution. Provide leadership with actionable insights to improve program performance.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Design and implement advanced reporting frameworks that convert raw program data into actionable insights. Develop executive dashboards, reporting packages, and program performance briefings. Ensure reporting structures support governance, compliance, and program transparency.

Program Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a key liaison between program leadership, technical teams, and operational stakeholders. Facilitate discussions around program performance, risks, and improvement opportunities. Ensure analytical outputs support both operational teams and executive leadership.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, strengthening analytical capabilities across the team. Promote best practices in data analysis, reporting, and performance management. Support the development of analytical standards and methodologies across program teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or Master's degree and 6 years experience or Associate's degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing business analysis, operational analytics, or program performance analysis.
  • Experience developing and maintaining program performance baselines.
  • Strong experience performing variance analysis across schedule, cost, or operational metrics.
  • Knowledge of supporting integrated scheduling analysis and program performance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in building reporting frameworks or business intelligence dashboards.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting FAA programs or National Airspace System (NAS) environments.
  • Familiarity with federal program management and governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting aviation, transportation, or critical infrastructure programs.
  • Knowledge of program control methodologies such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Certifications such as PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, or similar business analysis credentials.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level reporting and portfolio analytics initiatives.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
