Job Summary The Workplace Connection Senior Consultant supports NiSource's culture of inclusion, engagement, and belonging by contributing specialized expertise, guidance, and execution support for key initiatives. As a senior consultant, this role influences programs and provides strategic partnership across teams without direct people leadership responsibilities. The Senior Consultant collaborates with business units, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and State Councils to strengthen employee experience, drive connection, and advance engagement efforts.
Essential Functions
- Supports the execution of enterprise-wide Workplace Connection strategies in partnership with business leaders, ERGs, and State Councils.
- Coordinates and executes employee engagement activities, events, campaigns, and recognition initiatives that promote inclusion and belonging.
- Applies subject-matter expertise to integrate the employee value proposition into local engagement efforts, including onboarding, recognition, and leadership development.
- Identifies emerging trends in workforce engagement, inclusion, and industry best practices to inform program enhancements.
- Builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with HR, Communications, and business units to align and amplify engagement efforts.
- Partners with external organizations-such as universities, advocacy groups, and community partners-to support diverse talent pipelines and engagement opportunities.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of Workplace Connection infrastructure, tools, processes, and resources.
- Provides coaching, guidance, and advisory support to ERG and Council leaders to promote inclusive behaviors and foster psychological safety.
- Offers expertise during ERG and Council formation, chartering, and operational cycles.
- Advises ERG leaders on effective engagement strategies, program planning, and leadership development.
- Supports the design, coordination, and delivery of inclusion-related learning experiences, workshops, and speaker events.
- Evaluates and partners with external vendors to support specialized learning or development initiatives.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of inclusion-focused skill-building and awareness programs.
- Supports the development, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators related to engagement and inclusion.
- Applies data insights to inform planning, identify opportunities for improvement, and measure program impact.
- Ensures tools, resources, and information on the Workplace Connection portal remain accessible and user-friendly.
Required Qualifications for Position
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing needs, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective project management skills with the ability to plan, monitor, and execute deliverables.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into practical recommendations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary Range*: $96,600.00 - $144,900.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2026-03-12
