Position: Child Life Activity Technician


Bring joy, comfort, and normalcy to kids and families during hospital stays. As our Child Life Activity Technician, you'll create engaging, developmentally-appropriate experiences that reduce stress, spark smiles, and support healing. You'll lead volunteers and pet therapy visits, run the activity center, and partner with clinical teams to deliver play-based interventions that matter.


What You'll Do



  • Create an inviting, safe activity space stocked with age-appropriate materials.
  • Lead volunteer and pet therapy interactions; train and mentor community and student participants.
  • Design and deliver bedside and group activities that normalize the hospital experience and provide distraction and comfort.
  • Oversee visitor safety and infection-prevention standards in the activity center.
  • Represent the program at community events and ensure safe, meaningful engagement with patients and families.
  • Collaborate with the care team to integrate play into individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of activities and participation.


What We're Looking For



  • Associate's degree in Child Development, Family Studies, Education, Psychology, or related field; OR high school/GED plus 30 hours of coursework in a related field; OR Florida DCF Birth-Five Training Certificate; OR 5 years' pediatric experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Ability to assess and respond to age-specific needs and to work effectively under emotional and physical stress.
  • Comfortable using basic computer applications.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.97/hour - Maximum 28.74/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
