What to Expect

Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start May 2026 and continue throughsummerterm (endingapproximately August 2026or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Join our team as an Autobidder Software Platform Intern, where you will define and author software that facilitates trading and operation of enormous quantities of electrical energy to make battery storage more economically advantageous and support clean electric grid growth. You will work cross functionally with experienced trading algorithm engineers, operations engineers, and time series forecasting engineers to build foundational software components supporting battery trading, e.g. building a service that ingests market price signals and routes them to trading algorithms.

What You'll Do
  • Own end-to-end cross-functional software projects, from defining detailed requirements through coordination with platform, algorithm, operations, and forecasting teams to delivery

  • Author and refine production-grade software supporting battery energy trading

  • Build tooling and automation services that remove bottlenecks for domain experts


What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Genuine interest in battery trading and effective software creation and extension

  • A hunger to drive impact and transition the world towards sustainable energy through foundational software improving automated battery energy trading operations

  • Nice to have: experience in Scala, Python, Kubernetes, Terraform, distributed systems, microservices, message-passing architecture, and writing production-grade software in a collaborative setting

  • Required: an interest to learn and extend your abilities with humility, drive and curiosity

  • Self-motivated effective communicator with strong software project management skills: excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work flexibly in a highly cross-functional environment

    Expected Compensation
    $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
