Job Description

Location: Wickliffe, Ohio
Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Thermal Processing Operator to join our 2nd shift production team in Wickliffe. In this role, you will operate furnaces, process cores, and document all operations to ensure the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is self-directed, team-oriented, and safety-conscious, with prior manufacturing or furnace experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build kiln loads, properly balancing saggers for optimal processing.

  • Place fire check keys in appropriate positions for Lab Analysis.

  • Operate all thermal equipment, including Wax Binder and PK furnaces, according to procedures.

  • Set time and temperature parameters using standard programs and monitor temperature charts; report deviations to engineering.

  • Load and unload cores correctly and safely.

  • Assist with minor equipment maintenance as needed.

  • Perform visual inspections of cores to identify defects.

  • Report all operational or equipment issues to Supervision, Maintenance, or Engineering.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain department housekeeping/6S standards.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior manufacturing or thermal processing experience preferred.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-directed and able to accomplish goals with minimal supervision.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
