Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Summary:

Responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and assign work of subordinates.

  • Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.

  • Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.

  • Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.

  • Investigate and determine the cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.

  • Keeps the manager abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.

  • Maintain discipline, morale, and harmonious relations among subordinates.

  • Maintain and organize FSQA documentation, including SOPs, HACCP plans, GMP records, and audit reports.

  • Ensure timely updates and version control of all FSQA documents.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.

  • Collaborate with FSQA team members to ensure documentation reflects current practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor document compliance with FDA, USDA, GFSI, and other applicable standards.

  • Assist in training staff on document control procedures and FSQA systems.

  • Digitize and archive records for easy retrieval and long-term storage.

  • Identify opportunities for improving documentation processes and systems.

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

  • Acquire knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $32 to $39 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety programs.

  • Familiarity with electronic document management systems (EDMS).

  • Working knowledge of HACCP regulations, Food safety and audit procedures

  • Experience with GFSI schemes (SQF, BRCGS, BAP, etc.)

  • Three to five years supervisory experience in the Quality Assurance field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Similar industry experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
