Creative Design Coordinator | Richmond, VA | Virginia Beach, VA

We are thrilled to announce an opening for a Creative Design Coordinator to support our Southern Marketing Practice and will be instrumental in supporting our design needs for a wide range of print and digital marketing materials.

This position provides an opportunity to grow your career within a dynamic, cross-functional team that includes design, marketing, communication, technical practitioners, and industry leaders. Our creative teams are involved in a diverse range of design projects that aim to positively impact our communities and the world around us.

Candidates will be asked to present their design portfolios. The position can be located in our Richmond, VA or Virginia Beach, VA office locations.

Responsibilities

    Supports graphic design projects through all phases of development and final production of materials, which may include pursuit materials and presentations, internal or external visibility communications, and/or client deliverables.
  • Aid with design assignments based on creative concepts, design briefs, and vision. This may include multiple channels and products (e.g., digital and/or printed long-form document design, handouts/brochures, proposal design, project branding, public outreach materials, custom infographics) to be created consistently.
  • Learns, uses, and adheres to corporate branding standards, including VHB's marketing, communications, imagery, and deliverables templates and policies.
  • Helps to create, organize, and maintain content including photography, templates, graphics, and presentations.
  • Participates in team meetings and training with marketing, communication, and design peers.
  • Edit designed materials based on QA/QC feedback provided by the supervisor.
  • Assists in requests for graphic design projects for client deliverables (e.g., project branding, printed reports, online documents, public outreach materials, custom infographics, website assets).
  • Provides support on conferences, webinars, and other regional industry events and experiences.
  • Participates in verifying that marketing deliverables and touchpoints comply with corporate branding standards, formats, and template styles.
  • Actively learn about VHB's culture, leadership, goals, markets, and services.
  • Completes all assignments in compliance with deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations while working collaboratively and communicating clearly.
  • Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.

  • Excellent creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Skills or interest in photography, video, animation, branding, website design, map creation within ArcGIS, UX design, or 3D modeling desired but not required.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of graphic design experience
  • Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, Advertising, Communications or related discipline
  • Basic working knowledge of and experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint
  • Involvement in industry affiliations desired but not required (e.g., AIGA, SMPS).
