Cookeville, TN, United States Job Description Description of Job Duty: The purpose of this position is to install, configure, and maintain the campus network infrastructure. Responsibilities Essential Functions: The overall purpose of this job is to provide installation, configuration, maintenance, and technical support for the campus network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and connected services like video security and access control. This role ensures high network availability and performance, resolves technical issues for end-users, and collaborates on new infrastructure deployments and system documentation. Physical Demands: Ability to transport items weighing as much as seventy (70) pounds. Work Hours: Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8: 00 a.m. – 4: 30 p.m. Must be available to serve in an on-call rotation, including weekends. Must be available for unexpected emergencies. Must be available to work extended shifts. This position requires the ability to occasionally adjust shift schedule to perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: An associate's degree, 60 credit hours, or a relevant Technical School certificate with two years of related professional experience or a high school diploma with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience. Experience must include at least one (1) year of relevant experience in network support, installation, and troubleshooting. Required Knowledge: Computer networking principles, protocols, and operations. Network hardware (switches, routers, WAPs). Unix-based and Windows operating systems. Category 6/6a cabling requirements and basic electronic principles. Required Skills: Knowledge of basic electronic diagnosis and repair. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to terminate Category 6/6a twisted-pair with appropriate connectors. Preferred Qualifications: Single-Mode and Multi-Mode fiber optic cable requirements and termination ability.
