USA TODAY Sports is seeking a dynamic and versatile sports writer to join in the growth and expansion of high school sports coverage within the nation's largest news media organization. The selected applicant will be a key contributor to USA TODAY Sports' national high school editorial team, helping to usher in the next chapter of influential journalism and content creation that has stood at the forefront of high school sports since 1982. The writer will provide expert national and regional oversight for USA TODAY's Super 25 and All-USA franchises, serving as the authorities on naming national champions, All-Americans and more across sports at the national, regional and state levels. This role requires content creation for website and social media, in addition to editing. The team will be responsible for developing and leading strategic content calendars, as well as building relationships with high schools, academies and clubs to assist in data collection (stats, player info, records, etc.). We're looking for someone who is a self-starter and raring to achieve ambitious goals. Journalists in this role will be liaisons between the national high school sports team and USA TODAY Network editors and writers, working cross-functionally across 200+ newsrooms to maximize impact for each sports season. This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii. Responsibilities:
