Job Summary

Provides sales and service leadership for assigned market segments at the Kovens Conference Center (KCC). Responsible for the full sales lifecycle, including lead generation, site inspections, contract negotiation, and event execution for multi-day institutional meetings and conferences.

  • Manages and maintains a prospect and opportunity pipeline for corporate, FIU internal, government, and non-profit clients to achieve annual sales targets and other performance metrics. Obtains orders or contracts for services to support the revenue growth of the Center.
  • Responds promptly to inquiries, prepares proposals, conducts site inspections, and develops tailored packages for conferences, trainings, and meetings. Focuses on weekday and multi-day event business to optimize facility occupancy
  • Ensures all conference contracts and service agreements adhere to government per diem rates, non-profit tax-exempt requirements, and specific grant-funded event constraints.
  • Builds and promotes strong, long-lasting relationships with key institutional clients. Provides timely follow-up and guidance throughout the sales and planning process to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Serves as a point of contact for assigned client accounts, supporting billing, recharge, and payment processes as applicable, in alignment with current institutional policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Coordinates all event details and logistics for assigned clients including room layouts, food and beverage coordination, Audiovisual needs, parking, signage, police, custodial and all other on-site support. Ensures smooth event execution in collaboration with the Building Coordinator and Audiovisual Manager.
  • Facilitates contracts, banquet event orders, and floor plans during weekly operations meetings. Ensures all agreements, payments, and post-event documentation are accurate and compliant.
  • Generates invoices, processes payments, and prepares post-event summaries. Works closely with the finance department to ensure timely reconciliation and accurate financial reporting.
  • Utilizes the Delphi database or similar Customer Relationship Management software to manage client data, track and update opportunity pipelines, schedule reminders, maintain accurate sales activity records, and ensure consistent and proactive sales follow-up.
  • Represents assigned and emerging market segments for the Kovens Conference Center, which may include but not limited to FIU internal clients, government, non-profit organizations, associations, and corporate partners.
  • Stays current with trends in conference and event management through continuing education and participation in local business and institutional associations.
  • Assists other conference coordinators during events and serve as operational backup as needed to ensure seamless event execution.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; OR four (4) years of experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.



Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Delphi.fdc or similar software.
  • Established relationships or deep understanding of the South Florida corporate and institutional event market to drive immediate lead generation.
