Job Summary:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth across multiple industrial sectors within the United States. This role partners closely with sales, product management, and executive leadership to position the company's technical solutions effectively within complex, relationship-driven B2B markets.

The ideal candidate understands long sales cycles, technical buyers, and multi-industry go-to-market strategies typical of industrial and manufacturing environments.

Principal Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing & Planning



  • Develop and implement comprehensive B2B marketing strategies aligned with company growth objectives.


  • Identify target markets, customer segments, and vertical industry opportunities.


  • Create annual and quarterly marketing plans, budgets, and performance targets.


  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to guide positioning and messaging.


Lead Generation & Demand Creation



  • Build and execute multi-channel demand generation programs including:


  • Digital marketing


  • Trade shows and industry events


  • Content marketing


  • Email campaigns


  • Partner with sales teams to develop qualified lead pipelines.


  • Implement and optimize marketing automation and CRM workflows.


  • Track and report marketing ROI and conversion metrics.


Product & Technical Marketing



  • Translate technical product capabilities into clear value propositions.


  • Develop product launch strategies and supporting collateral.


  • Create case studies, white papers, technical datasheets, and sales tools.


  • Support pricing strategy and product positioning.


Brand & Communications



  • Maintain consistent brand identity across all marketing channels.


  • Oversee website strategy, SEO/SEM initiatives, and digital presence.


  • Manage public relations, thought leadership, and industry partnerships.


  • Coordinate internal and external communications.


Sales & Channel Alignment



  • Collaborate with sales leadership to support account-based marketing initiatives.


  • Using best practices, train sales teams on marketing tools, messaging, and campaign execution.


Analytics & Performance Measurement



  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to evaluate marketing effectiveness.


  • Monitor customer acquisition costs, pipeline contribution, and campaign ROI.


  • Use data to continuously optimize marketing performance.


Vendor & Project Management



  • Manage external agencies, freelancers, and marketing technology providers.


  • Oversee marketing budgets and resource allocation.


  • Ensure timely execution of campaigns and projects.



Required Skills:



  • Experience marketing to multiple industry verticals strongly preferred


  • Demonstrated success supporting long and complex sales cycles


  • Strong understanding of industrial buying processes and technical audiences


  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms


  • Proficiency in digital marketing, SEO/SEM, and analytics tools


  • Ability to develop technical marketing content


  • Experience managing trade shows and industry events


  • Strong project management and budgeting skills



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required


  • 5-10 years of progressive B2B marketing experience



Preferred Skills:



  • Experience supporting distributor or channel partner sales models


  • Industrial gas marketing experience


  • Background working with engineering or technical product teams


  • Familiarity with account-based marketing strategies


  • Experience managing marketing teams or cross-functional initiatives



Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA or advanced degree preferred


  • Minimum 3 years in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technical product marketing preferred



The salary range for this position is $102,000-$136,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer's 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program.
