Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Production Team Lead-Maintenance in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Primary Purpose:

This position is responsible for directing and coordinating maintenance personnel and/or providing maintenance resource planning (by assignments), for Howmet's generating facilities that ensure safe and reliable equipment operation in order to meet system generation requirements in the most effective manner.

This position reports directly to Manager Maintenance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, distribute, and coordinate work assignments of Maintenance Department personnel in response to emergent requests for the maintenance and repair of plant machinery, equipment and facilities according to general priority guidelines set by management.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports of work assigned and completed.
  • Identify and investigate delays in work assigned.
  • Provide technical guidance and other assistance as needed in all areas of general maintenance, mechanical, electrical, machining and machine rebuilding to prevent or resolve delays in work schedules, and report to supervisor on matters requiring management attention.
  • Review requisitions from all maintenance personnel for parts and other supplies to verify conformance to established standards regarding types, quantities, etc. and forward requisitions to Purchasing.
  • Receive and issue parts and other supplies.
  • Maintain records of supplies (parts, tooling, etc.) kept on hand in department, and requisitions replacements as needed to maintain adequate supply.
  • May assist supervisor in planning and coordinating major long-term maintenance, repair, modification, or training projects programs.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Interact with all the facility's departments and with outside vendors.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years aerospace manufacturing maintenance experience OR certifications from accredited schools
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience performing autonomous maintenance.
