Description

Phoenix Defense seeks an experienced hardware systems product development executive to lead our expansion into live fire training systems, target hardware, and training systems integration. The Director, Hardware Products will bridge Engineering Services and Manufacturing Services to deliver a full range of hardware centric training capabilities including FASIT-compliant target systems, LOMAH electronic scoring, and Force-on-Force training hardware competitive with industry leaders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead hardware product strategy and development for infantry targets, pop-up mechanisms, moving target systems, and electronic scoring equipment
  • Architect integration between Gilbert manufacturing operations and training system technical requirements
  • Develop FASIT-compliant target systems competitive with Theissen Training Systems offerings
  • Lead Force-on-Force training hardware development including MILES/laser engagement system integration and instrumented training area infrastructure
  • Provide technical oversight for WTRS range modernization and LOMAH deployment projects
  • Drive IP development for internal software products supporting aerospace and training systems
  • Lead UAS IP exploitation and brushless motor development initiatives
  • Author technical volumes for proposals and serve as technical SME for oral presentations
  • Mentor and develop hardware engineering team; manage Hardware Product Engineers, Target Systems Team, and Manufacturing Engineering Liaison


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems); Master's preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in hardware product development, manufacturing engineering, or systems integration
  • 10+ years of experience in defense training systems, range equipment, or military simulation hardware
  • Demonstrated experience with live fire training systems, target mechanisms, or electronic scoring
  • Strong understanding of Army range modernization requirements and PEO STRI acquisition processes
  • Proven track record of managing technical teams and delivering complex hardware systems
  • Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred)
