Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 3 YEARS.

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, ranked among the top pharmacy schools in the nation, is committed to advancing health and wellness through innovation in education, research, and patient care. As part of this mission, the Pharmacy Readiness for Community Impact (Rx- IMPACT) program seeks to address the critical shortage of pharmacists in rural and underserved areas of North Carolina. This initiative focuses on recruiting and training students from these communities and preparing them to return as highly skilled practitioners who can serve vulnerable populations and improve health outcomes.

The Project Manager will oversee the implementation and coordination of the Rx- IMPACT program, a year-long, application-based experience designed to engage high school and undergraduate students with the profession of pharmacy and its expanding roles. The program includes three key components: a Summer Rx- IMPACT Program, an Experiential Immersion, and a Longitudinal Rx- IMPACT experience. Through these offerings, participants will explore health challenges affecting their communities, gain exposure to emerging pharmacist roles, and receive preparation for admission to the PharmD program at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. This position is funded through a three-year grant and will be appointed for the lifecycle of the grant, ensuring seamless delivery of program activities, managing partnerships, monitoring outcomes, and contributing to the long-term goal of recruiting and retaining pharmacists in rural and underserved areas across North Carolina.
