Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to lead global financial consolidation, monthly close, and external reporting for a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. This role owns quarterly and annual Berkshire reporting, global Chart of Accounts governance, and technical accounting matters, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across a complex, multientity manufacturing environment using SAP and OneStream.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

What you will do:

Monthly Financial Close & Reporting


  • Oversight of the monthly Holdings Entity financial close process and review of all prepared journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Manage OneStream consolidation workflows, and monthly reporting deliverables with a focus on accuracy and speed.

  • Lead oversight of the monthly MiTek consolidated financial statements, including the eliminations and full consolidation process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.


Quarterly and Annual BRK Schedule Reporting


  • Serve as the primary point person for all quarterly and annual Berkshire Reporting Packages, owning preparation, review, coordination, and timely submission.

  • Standardize and maintain OneStream input grids, templates, and submission processes across global entities.

  • Build, enhance, and maintain BRK-specific reports, dashboards, and supporting schedules.

  • Lead entity coordination, issue resolution, and process improvements to ensure consistent, high-quality BRK deliverables and handle ad-hoc Berkshire requests.


Global Chart of Accounts Governance & Controllership


  • Lead the preparation of a bi-annual review of the consolidated balance sheet.

  • Lead global COA governance, training, monitoring, and standardization initiatives.

  • Drive enhancement proposals to the global COA structure to improve financial reporting quality, consistency, and usability across entities.

  • Monitor COA compliance and usage globally, identify gaps, and implement changes to support better data management, cost allocations, and reporting efficiency.

  • Partner with global teams on COA-related projects and integration with broader controllership and FP&A processes.

  • Assist with maintaining management reporting governance and oversight on internal projects (R&D, IT, and Opex) utilizing SAP Project Systems.


Researching Technical Accounting Issues in Accordance with US GAAP


  • Conduct in-depth research on complex, non-routine, or emerging accounting matters using the FASB Accounting Standards Codification (ASC), recent ASUs, SEC guidance, and relevant interpretive resources.

  • Analyze transaction facts and circumstances, evaluate alternative accounting treatments, assess financial statement impacts, and prepare documented conclusions in formal position memos or whitepapers.

  • Ensure all research is thorough, well-cited, consistent with prior company positions, and audit-defensible.


Key Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA certification is preferred.

  • Proven Change Leadership & Stakeholder Management, with ability to collaborate globally to ensure accurate financials.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience including public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred).

  • Manufacturing-related accounting and financial reporting experience is preferred.

  • Experience with SAP (including Project Systems module) and OneStream financial consolidation and reporting tool.

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting (10-Q/10-K), and internal controls.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters to senior management.

  • Experience in a multinational or multi-entity organization with global annual revenues exceeding $1 billion.

Strong writing and verbal skills; ability to communicate well across functions; problem solving and research capabilities; critical thinking.

Additional Requirements

  • 10% Travel to national MiTek locations as needed
