About Duke Arts

The Office of the Vice Provost for the Arts, known as Duke Arts, supports and elevates the arts across Duke University through programming, communications, academic partnerships, and community engagement. Duke Arts provides strategic leadership for the arts at Duke.

Duke Arts Presents, the largest program within Duke Arts, serves as Duke's professional arts presenting organization, offering an annual season of music, dance, theater, interdisciplinary performance, and installations by internationally recognized and emerging artists. The program also provides educational residencies, workshops, and engagement opportunities that connect visiting artists with Duke classrooms and community partners.

As the Marketing Specialist: Duke Arts Presents, you'll join a collaborative, missiondriven team that strengthens the visibility, impact, and reach of Duke Arts programming across campus and the broader community.

What You'll Do:

- Support the daytoday execution of marketing and communications activities for Duke Arts Presents, including email marketing, newsletters, reminders, postshow surveys, and targeted outreach.

- Develop and publish content for Duke Arts Presents social media channels while contributing to Duke Arts' broader digital strategy.

- Maintain accurate, uptodate event listings, artist pages, and related content across Duke Arts websites and external platforms.

- Assist with the production and execution of marketing deliverables, including digital assets, advertisements, print materials, and performance programs.

- Write and edit short and mediumform copy for event pages, blog posts, social media, promotional materials, and communications.

- Contribute to the Duke Arts content calendar by entering event updates, deadlines, and key marketing milestones.

- Collect, organize, and report marketing data-including email analytics, social metrics, website performance, and survey responses.

- Support broader Duke Arts unit initiatives as assigned, including asset organization, brandaligned collateral development, and archival tasks.

- Provide dayofevent marketing support, including content capture, live updates, and setup of marketing materials.

- Update and maintainvisitor and accessibility information about regular Duke Arts venues on all Duke Arts channels.

- Respond to general marketing inquiries and support student workers or contractors as needed.



What You'll Bring:

Education

Work requires communication and marketing skills normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience

Work generally requires one year of related experience in advertising, marketing, media, promotions, or public relations - or any other equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Note: This position does require some night and weekend availability to support Duke Arts Presents events and engagement activities.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
