What to Expect
The Commercial Sr Construction Manager's primary responsibility is to lead and oversee project teams, including in-house installers, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with project goals. This role supports the deployment and installation of key products such as Megapacks, Superchargers, Semi Chargers, and solar projects. To effectively manage operations, the Construction Manager must be present onsite daily during active work periods. This hands-on presence enables direct oversight of day-to-day team activities, timely identification of issues, and comprehensive awareness of all onsite developments. In addition, the Manager is accountable for upholding rigorous quality standards and enforcing safe work practices across all project phases. While these oversight functions are essential, the role prioritizes proactive team management and performance optimization.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects related to Tesla's Energy Products, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to deliver energy infrastructure projects
- Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and resolve issues to maintain project momentum
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of energy systems into broader facility or grid operations
What You'll Bring
- Extensive experience in construction management, ideally with a focus on renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of energy systems (e.g., solar PV, battery storage, or EV charging)
- Proven leadership in managing budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations specific to energy construction. Knowledge of safety standards set by NEC and NFPA70E
- This position involves contractor oversight, safety compliance, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic planning for capacity and scalability, tailored to energy-specific project
- 10 + years of experience in construction management including record of stellar leadership, organization and communication
- Ability to travel up to 2 weeks at a time
- OSHA 30 hours - CPR-First Aid Preferred
