The role supports coordination between the Purchasing function and all Vehicle Program teams (Engineering / Manufacturing / Cost Engineering). This includes responsibility of a dedicated perimeter, supporting the PPM during development by managing Cost Collaboration of the Change Management Process with stakeholders (including suppliers) through NA IT system.

The mission is to connect internal and external partners to make Change Management governance the quickest and most efficient (cost / technical change) possible for the company.

This program buyer role will align to our regional NA structure and report to the NA Cost Manager. This role is critical to improve efficiency and cost control for technical changes across all vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:



  • Manage changes during the evolution of the part from Sourcing through end of life with focus on economic impact to the part and within program timing
  • Lead negotiator on engineering changes with the supplier. Confirm supplier cost and review cost and timing to ensure project targets are met or exceeded
  • Lead liaison for the supplier on engineering changes, setup meetings with key internal stakeholders and supplier on as needed basis to remove any roadblocks


Expected Achievements include but not limited to:



  • Analyze supplier provided pictures and documentation. Interact with suppliers to provide direct instructions and timely feedback
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure Purchasing and Program timing deliverables are met
  • Negotiate supplier's economic impacts
  • Manage Cost Collaboration with supplier under timing constraint
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in perimeter of responsibility

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related field from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or related field
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong regional and global relationships
  • Must be well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict and resourceful when managing complex assignments
  • Must be comfortable and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Results oriented and ability to lead cross-functional teams both regional and globally
  • Robust negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
  • Robust communication skills required, must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Program Management Certification
  • Engineering change management knowledge/experience
