Shop Foreman - EPA Facility - Cincinnati, Ohio

Summary:

This role is responsible for assisting Site Managers to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled, quality standards are met, and associated expectations of performance are achieved. Provides direction and guidance to subordinates, develops schedules, and formulates work plans. Responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety, property accountability, and employee training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with site Safety, Emergency, Operational, Security, Quality and Environmental procedures relating to maintenance
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure optimum utilization of personnel and equipment
  • Direct supervision of maintenance personnel on a day-to-day basis
  • Maintain and improve preventative maintenance and mechanical integrity programs
  • Monitor employee's work levels
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation
  • Direct and make recommendations to maintenance crew
  • Ensure proper care in the use of and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Promote continuous improvement
  • Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations, using equipment necessary
  • Inspect, test and measure completed work to ensure proper utilization of equipment
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers
  • Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules
  • Support OSHA and all other safety and environmental regulations
  • Direct and coordinate outside contractors
  • Assist in the procurement of equipment and maintenance purchases
  • Leads a maintenance team including technicians
  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance activities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Communication and stakeholder management
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills
  • Proficient knowledge and skill of computer operation specifically in Microsoft Office Suite, and Maintenance Work Order systems
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed
