Assists Senior Analysts, and the Manager/Director of Strategic Planning, with the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategic initiatives across the Northside Hospital System. Duties include, but are not limited to data extraction, conducting market and demographic analysis, mapping, summarizing findings, tracking progress, performing project management, and other staff functions. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct various market research analyses such as hospital and/or service line market share assessments and demographic trend analyses. Assist with mapping requests for these and other data elements.
- Conduct physician affiliation analyses which include defining the project's target market, objective(s) and methodology. Conduct analyses using a variety of data sources including procured lists, internal documents and internet research.
- Assists in preparing accurate and timely routine and ad hoc quantitative reports, tools, models, and data visualizations to meet defined business needs. Leads the development of static and interactive dashboards, as needed.
- Supports the implementation, maintenance, and effective application of departmental data products, tools, studies, and other resources. Demonstrates proficient knowledge base of underlying solutions, including product methodologies, sources, and recommended use cases. Assists with troubleshooting and quality assurance, as necessary.
- Provides recurring feedback and participates in the continuous evaluation of current and prospective analytics solutions to ensure departmental resources remain competitively relevant in evolving environment.
- Maintains functional knowledge of current healthcare industry trends, including key stakeholders, delivery systems, sites of care, medical and business terminology, and emerging technologies.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by Manager/Director.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injuryaccident to Manager.
REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Public or Business Administration, Public Health, Business Analytics, Statistics, or closely related field.
- Experience with data gathering, data cleaning, and strategic analysis demonstrated by thoughtful application of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Access databases, enterprise data warehouses, third-party data exports, and publicly available sources.
- Experience developing SQL scripts/queries with limited supervision.
PREFERRED
- Master's Degree in Health Administration, Public or Business Administration, Public Health, Business Analytics or Statistics, or closely related field.
- Responsible experience in business intelligence, health planning, market research, or data analytics within a health care environment.
- Experience with ESRI mapping and spatial analytics software and SaaS, e.g. Business Analyst, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience developing Power BI data visualizations.
- Prior experience working with market intelligence solutions specializing in provider claims data and applications.Knowledge of Python programming language.
- Excellent oral, graphic, and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to work independently or as part of a project team.

- Strong critical thinking skills, including analytical & quantitative skills, and a demonstrated ability to "connect the dots" by translating information into meaningful insights for stakeholders from all levels within the organization.
