Your Opportunity:Taylor is seeking an Estimator who is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects, assisting in the bid preparation process, and supporting the estimating team. This position requires a solid understanding of estimating principles, materials, and construction methodologies. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with project managers and engineers to ensure successful project execution.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate and timely cost estimates for transactional work, repeat orders, and RFP opportunities by analyzing specifications, artwork, production requirements, and customer needs.

  • Perform detailed cost analysis including materials, labor, equipment, outside services, freight, and overhead to ensure comprehensive and competitive pricing.

  • Gather and validate necessary information from Sales, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, and other departments to support accurate estimate development.

  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy, completeness, and cost competitiveness.

  • Prepare pricing summaries and supporting documentation, including cost breakdowns and comparisons, to support proposal development and internal decision-making.

  • Assist in the preparation and response to RFPs and large opportunities by compiling required production and pricing data.

  • Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy prior to release.

  • Maintain estimating systems, databases, and historical cost records to support consistency and future reference.

  • Monitor and meet established turnaround time expectations and departmental KPIs while providing clear status updates as needed.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend pricing or production alternatives that improve competitiveness while maintaining margin objectives.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process inefficiencies and contributing to best practice development.

  • Stay current on materials, production methods, and vendor capabilities to strengthen product knowledge and pricing accuracy.

You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • 0-2 years of estimating, pricing, or related industry experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with estimating or pricing software preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Working knowledge of printing processes, production methods, materials, and cost drivers.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and respond to questions from internal teams and customers.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also working independently on assigned estimates.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer.

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Estimating experience, preferably in the printing industry or equivalent

  • Extensive knowledge of supplier and partner capabilities and strengths

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field; published mark-up schedule and the 'cost' pricing structure, factors such as material cost, spoilage,etc

  • Expert in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft officetoolsand File Management

Theanticipatedannual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just onecomponentof Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employees.
