Position Description: The CLPE Field Engineers will work on the maintenance of the electrical systems of CLP's utility privatization (UP) or CLPE clients with varying levels of independence with support from our Electrical Engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and coordinate customer service connections (small projects that require a basic system changeout for connections) - site walks with customer, concept sketches, specifications, BOM, procurement support, customer design review, design and drawings, construction support, as-builts, and final documentation.
- Coordinate and develop large distribution and substation projects for engineering review- projects that require existing utility system reconfiguration, capacity increase, and/or protective device coordination.
- Keep GIS and CAD drawings/standards up to date - support CartoPac data collection effort daily to maintain the system as-built condition in GIS. Update system one-lines and other CAD drawings as needed.
- Support engineer(s) on various projects - data collections, field verifications, relay settings download/upload, event data gathering, metering information tracking, and field wiring.
- Keep track of apparatus maintenance records and assist in developing R&R plans - review field inspections for QA/QC, keep track of maintenance requests in GIS, keep trach of apparatus and device testing reports and assist engineer in analyzing them.
- Support asset inspections and maintenance workflow - help field crew with asset data collection, troubleshooting, adding data fields, and QA/QC data collection on a regular basis.
- Monitor reliability indices and support engineering in preparation of outage reports for large scale faults and outages.
- Support field troubleshooting and data gathering for fault events - download relay event data. Support field crew for troubleshooting faults and failures.
- Be a key engineering POC for on-site/in the field support, as a part of the engineering team.
- Report to and interface with the engineering team, while also coordinating with other managers, operations teams, and customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills | Knowledge | Experience:
- 8+years' experience required with an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (ET) from an accredited college/university, with emphasis in electrical power systems or additional experience to demonstrate competency.
- Advanced understanding of medium voltage electrical substations and distribution systems.
- Experience with power flow, key components, and electrical system operation.
- Experience in blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to support various projects and services.
- Must be proficient with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Arc GIS, and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge and expertise of distribution system design software such as PLS-CADD and Pole Foreman (preferred).
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Authorization | Security Clearance:
- Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen.
- Military Base Access Security Clearance is required for this position.
- A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
Travel:
- Travel between job sites, offices, and locations with up to 25% overnight travel expected.
Compensation | Benefits:
- We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
- Salary range: $124,000-$133,000/year based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
- We reserve the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range based on factors unrelated to sex.
