What You'll Do:

  • * Lead and promote a strong Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) culture by coaching, mentoring, and guiding employees and contractors, spending the majority of time in the field reinforcing safe work practices and leading by example.
    * Provide hands-on safety expertise through participation in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), incident investigations, audits, inspections, PSSR/MOC/PHA/HAZOP activities, and behavioral-based safety programs.
    * Deliver and coordinate MSHA/OSHA and site-specific safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors, including onboarding, refresher training, and continuous field-based instruction.
    * Ensure compliance with all regulatory, corporate, and site-specific safety requirements by interpreting regulations, supporting audits and inspections, and maintaining required OSHA, MSHA, ETQ, and PSM documentation.
    * Lead incident investigations using TapRooT or equivalent methodologies, develop corrective actions, and prepare, finalize, and distribute investigation reports.
    * Review safety performance data, identify trends, track corrective actions and SHE work orders, and drive continuous improvement in safety systems and procedures.
    * Support emergency management, crisis communication, contractor safety oversight, industrial hygiene activities, PPE evaluation, and participation in audits and emergency response efforts.
    * Engage in continuous professional development by attending safety training and conferences, supporting corporate safety initiatives, and developing effective safety meetings and training materials.
    * Possess the ability to lead and influence employees/contractors.
    * Analytical reading and proficient writing skills
    * Ability to assess safety programs and make recommendations to the Safety Manager for continuous improvement.
    * Ability to develop working knowledge of Corporate and site safety programs and policies/procedures.
    * Ability to lead audits and deliver training as required.
    * Motivation and ability to obtain Professional Safety Certifications

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Associates degree or higher in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or 2 or more years of health and safety experience in industrial or manufacturing operations or Associates degree or higher in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, required.

    • Through work experience qualified candidates will be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Phosphate Mining and Chemical Plants.




Preferred Education and Experience



  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and (Mine Safety and Health Administration) MSHA instructor certification is preferred.
  • Experience with incident investigations is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) , preferred
