ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent Five to seven years' experience in mechanical or electrical trades preferably in a healthcare setting. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE Healthcare Mechanic Certification (M.E.C.H.) preferred. NIULPE Power Engineer certification or approved equivalent preferred. EPA refrigerant handling certification preferred. For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of blueprints and power tools Knowledge of CMS, TJC, OSHA, EPA, DPH, and other regulatory bodies Good interpersonal/communication skills Ability to teach and instruct other team members in an effective manner WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud Occupational Exposure: Category A - All partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED Neonate (birth - 28 days) Infant (29 days - less than 1 year) Pediatric (1 year - 12 years) Adolescents (13 years - 17 years) Adult (18 years - 64 years) Geriatric (65 years and older) INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access patient care information needed to perform their job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods. The incumbent must make decisions using independent judgment required in order to adapt to routine situations.
