ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following behavior expectations: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduate of an approved histotechnology program preferred. Must have at least three years of experience as a histotechnologist. Must be qualified to perform high complexity testing according to CLIA 493.1489 Standard; Testing personnel qualifications. CERTIFICATE AND LICENSURE HT ASCP certification required ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Occupational Exposure: Category A - all employees in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED

WORK CONTACT GROUP Partners, physicians, patients/family, visitors, vendors SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee may have occasion to reach overhead to pick up objects or to adjust items. The employee may have occasion to bend under or crawl under bench to move or obtain objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. SUPERVISES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
