OverviewA Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse with at least 2 years of experience as a beside registered nurse in a level III NICU, who is prepared to practice across the continuum, providing primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age 2. Essential Functions- Performs physical examinations, may perform specialty procedures and provide follow up care of the patient.A - Performs preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of the physician.A - Explains and provides specialized education to the patient care.A - Provides answers to any questions a patient might have. - Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.A - Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.A - Credentialed to sedate, circulate and scrub electrophysiology procedures under the direction of the physician, as needed by specialty clinic.A - Discusses and collaborates care of the patient with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.A - Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.A - Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.A - Has a high level of decision-making skills and autonomy.A - Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment. Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program. - Meets the requirements determined by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner. - Specialty, based on area of practice, experience required PAY RANGE: $0.00 - $1,000,000.00Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
