Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigates case situations and presents information to oncologist and other members of health team, on patient's family and social background pertinent to diagnosis and treatment. Works in close collaboration with oncologists and other health care personnel in patient evaluation and treatment to further their understanding of significant social and emotional factors underlying patient's health problem.
  • Helps patient and family through individual or group conferences to understand and accept social, medical and emotional factors in regard to the health problem. Provides service planned to restore the patient to optimum social and health adjustment within the patient's capacity.
  • Serves as link between patient and community resources.
  • Works directly in treatment relationship with patients, individually or in groups, in consultation with the oncologist. Refers patient or patient's family to other community resources.

Requirements:

Masters' Degree in Social Work

Ability to pursue training certificate and accrue hours preferred

Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days (or per program's guidelines)

Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.

Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.

PAY RANGE:

$29.41 - $94,818.29
