You will help deliver game-changing technology for future proofing our build system towards, and meeting the tremendous scale requirements of a fast growing code base. We are looking for an exceptional Java developer, with experience in Ant, Maven, Bazel, Gradle, make, or other build systems and interested in solving build graph challenges at scale!

Core Developer Productivity is M3 on the TMP V2MOM with the goal to deliver transformational improvements to the Core Development Experience this year. The higher priority of this method demands a pool of talent to drive the transformational initiatives such as making the core app build successful on the Bazel framework.

As a Java developer on the Core Build Framework team, you will have a hand in defining the technology that runs Salesforce Core builds. Today, there are over 5,500 modules in the core build, containing over 450,000 java classes, and serving over 5,000 core developers! You will join a team of world-class, highly motivated software engineers to deliver a high-quality software architecture with the scalability and performance needed to match the staggering increase in the engineers who develop and/or contribute to the core codebase. You will need deep experience with Java and other programming languages, proficiency with solving real-world challenges in large data systems, a strong understanding of how to architect solutions that support scalability and parallelism, and help design, develop, and optimize the current monolith core code base.

Required Skills
Expertise in Java is a must!
You must be proficient in advanced Java concepts such as concurrency/multi-threading, and class-loading.
Interest in Java compiler internals is a plus.
You should not be afraid of reading and debugging the internals of tooling, such as Maven, Bazel, IDEs, etc.
Strong understanding of data structures, design patterns, concurrency, and scalability.
Familiarity with directed acyclic graph (DAG) problems.
Familiarity with IDE tooling, especially IntelliJ and VSCode.
Experience with build systems (ant/bazel/gradle/maven/make)
Experience with Agile software development

The typical base salary range for this position is $117,200 - $164,360 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $141,200 - $180,740 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
