Spire is seeking a Manager of Field Operations for the Southeast region. This position will focus on managing and directing Customer Field Operations in their respective Zone/Resource Center to provide safe, reliable and exceptional service to the customers and communities we serve.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for some or all the following, operations and maintenance of the distribution system, emergency response, meter set installations, service plus jobs, and any other assigned activities that maintain the integrity of the natural gas system.
  • Responsible for collaborating with other departments, contractors, and customers to maintain the natural gas facilities and compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Manages, directs and provides leadership for the Supervisors assigned to Customer Field Operations as they perform various duties to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the natural gas distribution system.
  • Responsible for coordinating efforts with other Company departments, contractors, builders, and customers.
  • Ensures accountability of supervisors, field employees, contractors, and others engaged in operational activities that are responsible for the maintenance and compliance of the natural gas system. Must have a thorough knowledge of the natural gas distribution system.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or another related field OR 10+ years of similar work experience, required.
  • Valid Driver's License, required.
  • Master's degree in Business, preferred.
  • Professional Engineering Certification, preferred.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Minimum 5 years' related experience, required.
  • Knowledge of the Natural Gas Distribution System and Operations.
  • Knowledge of the Company's corporate financial/ accounting tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of the distribution systems.
  • Highly proficient in the use of technology and information systems, including PC applications.
  • Strong communication skills.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Occasional travel.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules.
  • Availability to be on-call for nights and weekends.
