The Nursing Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) at BMC Brighton's Digestive Clinic provides professional clinical assistance to patients within the practice. Working directly with the physicians, the Nurse Coordinator is the liaison between the patient and the physicians for establishing and maintaining quality patient care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:


  • Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards.
  • Utilizes clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care:
  • Assesses the patient and family as appropriate
  • Plans and implements clinical care and facilitates its delivery to patients and family members Evaluates the process and outcome of clinical services in the practice and makes suggestions for improvement
  • Documents according to practice policies and procedures
  • Provides education/consultation as needed to other health care team members and to patients and families

Department: Digestive Disease, BMC Brighton, 11 Nevins

Schedule: 20 hours per week

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

EDUCATION:

  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

EXPERIENCE:


  • Three (3) or more years in a clinical setting, preferably in office settings related to internal medicine sub-specialties preferred

  • Internal medicine office experience preferred

  • 1 year of clinical experience with sub-specialties preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


  • Expert clinical judgment and ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in an expanded role.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning to provide effective patient and/or family education.

  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with the various members of the health care team, patients and families.

  • Computer proficiency inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information required.


Compensation Range:

$69,500.00- $101,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
