For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants. This bonus will be prorated for part-time positions. Please note this bonus is not available for per-diem positions. Job Title: Patient Service Representative (PSR)
Department: Walk-In Care - Damariscotta
Location: 24 Miles Center Way, Damariscotta, Maine
Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 6 hours per shift (daytime hours)
Schedule Type: Consistent schedule with possible weekend coverage
Remote Work: Not eligible - on-site position

Position Summary

MaineHealth Walk-In Care in Damariscotta is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our team. The PSR is often the first point of contact for our patients and plays an important role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience for patients and families.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can manage multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and assist with patient inquiries

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments

  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information

  • Collect co-payments and process paperwork as needed

  • Direct patients and visitors appropriately within the clinic

  • Perform general office and clerical duties to support clinic operations

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
