The Coteau Properties Company is looking for talented seasonal maintenance welders to join our award-winning team at the Freedom Mine. The Coteau Properties Company, a subsidiary of North American Coal Corporation, operates the Freedom Mine, the largest lignite surface coal mine in the United States with large electric draglines, loading shovels, and coal preparation facilities located north of Beulah, North Dakota. Job Description: Essential Duties: Weld all metals and understand metal properties Read and understand blueprints, to assemble and fabricate parts from them Perform all phases of welding and cutting Locate and repair cracks in metal parts and structural members Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures as required Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal regulations Other Duties: Operate the boom truck and welding truck Operate the skid steer loader, the sweeper, and the forklift Proper use of rigging to lift components and steel Operate overhead crane controls Assist other departments as needed Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong work ethic with effective communication skills Understand all phases of welding and cutting of metals and understanding metal properties Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of rigging procedures Rotating shift work is required and must be able to work up to 12-hour shifts Education and Training: Two years of welding experience ora welding technician associate's degree is preferred High School Diploma or GED is required The hourly wage for these positions starts at $49.68 per hour.
