As an Architectural Design Intern, you will gain practical experience in a range of project types from community buildings to industrial facilities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate professionalism through:


  • A curiosity to investigate rational solutions within a limited set of variables
  • Relentless follow through and resilience to imperfect circumstances while honing one's own practice of Architecture


You will assist the building services team in developing and delivering various building types for civic and private clients alike. You will collaborate with our inter disciplinary group to understand how designs move from conception through design development, into construction documents and construction for a variety of project types and sizes. We are looking for a curious, self-motivated candidate capable of creatively applying their architectural experiences!

What You Will Be Doing:


  • Provide assistance in the planning, design, and coordination of different projects
  • Independently apply architectural concepts as well as carry out novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures
  • Coordinate drawings and specifications with the project team
  • Engage in fast paced idea generation
  • Develop design and construction drawings in conjunction with a larger team
  • Expand your experience and confidence in written and visual communication
  • Gain exposure to a multitude of unique engineering disciplines obtaining a sensibility to how architecture interacts with the rest of the built and unbuilt environment


What We Are Looking for:


  • Degree Programs: Enrolled in a Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree program (NAAB-accredited university strongly preferred)
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.8 GPA; Desired GPA 3.2 or above
  • Current Status: Completed 3 years of design education prior to the start of the internship
  • Experience in Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and other visualization design tools such as Sketchup or Rhino.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Students must possess a valid driver's license and their own transportation or have ability to use public transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel.

Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Relocation and housing are not included.

Hourly Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hr. depending on years of experience and credentials

Bolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to specific geographic location. Bolton & Menk reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
