From delivering safe drinking water and treating wastewater responsibly to developing sustainable water supplies and protecting lives and property through flood control, your work will directly support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience. In the role of Water/Wastewater EIT/ Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Actively work on pump stations and water pipelines, process mechanical related components, ground/elevated storage tanks, sewer conveyance, lift stations, water/wastewater treatment, master planning, water/wastewater modeling, water wells, and other water/wastewater related projects.

  • Perform detailed calculations related to fluids and hydraulics.

  • Support planning level, preliminary engineering, and detailed design

  • Perform field investigations, site visits, and construction observation to ensure compliance with design documents

  • Perform as part of a quality assurance team and conduct quality control reviews of completed deliverables.

  • Support condition assessments and rehabilitation planning projects.

  • Assist with the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Perform detailed analyses and prepare study-level reports to document findings.

  • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to properly size equipment and make appropriate selections to incorporate into projects.

  • Openly work on multidisciplinary projects and multi-office project teams.

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills, data analysis skills, organizational skills, and multitasking abilities.

  • Be self-motivated and proactively demonstrate ability to work independently under supervision of professional engineer.

  • Have keen attention to detail and regularly implement a high-quality standard into work production.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (or related field)

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain.

  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

  • Prior work or internship experience with an engineering consulting firm or municipality

  • Local candidates are preferred or willing to relocate.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Interest or experience designing water/wastewater treatment facilities
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
