These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Operations with few direct instructions. Provides overall daily operations and administrative functions and supervision for Faculty and Staff Housing Facilities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Supervises the work of maintenance and environmental staff while following tenant rollover/contract schedules to ensure apartments are prepared and in good operating condition, covering multiple campuses and off-campus housing.
- Responsible for accommodating incoming and outgoing University president apartments during office transitions. Specifically supervises Maintenance Mechanics (Range17) and Environmental Services Housing Staff (Range 10) to ensure faculty, staff, and family apartment rollovers meet schedules for proper operation, condition, and cleanliness prior to occupancy. This includes delivery of proper furniture and stock inventory and associated replenishment.
- As a service priority; emergency response, repair, maintenance, and renovation of these apartments will be adhered to.
- Plans and manages renovation projects within Faculty and Staff Housing, as well as the repair and replacement of components and equipment in these assigned facilities.
- Ensures all facilities meet all life/safety, access regulations, and building codes.
- Performs professional work that requires the use of discretion and judgment within defined practices and procedures.
- Works regularly in conjunction with the management team of the IP&O Economic Development Group (EOG) with Business Services.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of housing.
- A minimum of two (2) years of general maintenance work experience which includes a basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, mechanics, heating/cooling, locks, vehicle repair, small engine repair, pumps, and painting are required.
- A minimum of two years' supervision experience in maintenance is required.

- A valid New Jersey driver's license and two years driving experience is required.
- Must complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving Program.
