Overview The Specialist- Corporate Security is responsible for various functions in the O&R Corporate Security Department. These include but are not limited to Security Operations Center (SOC) oversight, act as liaison to the contract guard company and provide guard oversight at all company locations, investigative function support, assisting employees, customers, and Law Enforcement with security-related issues. Core Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs for employees and contractors whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected per company policy and governmental regulations.
- Oversee the daily activities of the security operations center to ensure efficient and effective operation.
- Act as the liaison to the contract guard service company.
- Oversee all contract guards and guard posts throughout the company and prepare post orders as needed.
- Travels between company locations including CECONY/O&R as required.
- Perform special assignments as requested by the Chief Security Officer and O&R Department Manager.
- Maintains liaison with Law Enforcement agencies and other Corporate Security Departments to share information and address mutual security concerns.
- Provide training and instruction to contract guard staff as determined by the Manager Corporate Security
- Participate in the companies Emergency Management processes and storm plans as required.
- Be on call for emergencies 24 hours a day, as required by department rotation.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years' work experience work experience in uniformed guard account management. or
- Associate's Degree and 4 years' work experience work experience in uniformed guard account management. or
- High School Diploma/GED and 10 years' work experience work experience in uniformed guard account management.
Relevant Work Experience
- Experience with monitoring team performance and ensuring adherence to Security Operations Center processes, required.
- Experience coordinating and directing personnel across multiple posts and locations, required.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. required.
- Working knowledge of technical security equipment such as CCTV, video recording systems, card access and intrusion detection, required.
- Effectively interact with customers, vendors, support staff, and various management levels, required
- Must be a self-starter and have proven ability to analyze trends, delve into investigative facts and circumstances and correlate findings and leads into solving incidents, required.
- Must have strong presentation, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint), required.
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must work at field locations in all weather conditions
- Must perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
- Must perform heavy manual labor; i.e. pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must carry tools and materials, climb ladders and scaffolds, and enter confined spaces
- Must climb ladders and stairs
- Must work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, or equipment
- Must work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
- Must stand, walk, and climb ladder and stairs for a whole shift
- Must walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach
- Must unload materials from delivery vehicles and deliver equipment and materials to various operating facilities
- Must use eye-hand coordination to adjust controls on equipment
- Must wear all necessary personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including; fire retardant clothing and safety harness
