Job Description




As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist guests and store teams with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and/or local emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, common areas, parking areas and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor entrances, exits and receiving areas for unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior, and help to deter theft, loitering and/or disruptive activity through presence and communication.
  • Complete daily reports, incident documentation and patrol logs, and communicate observations and/or concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
