Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Flex Lobby Desk in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Front Desk Officer in a government location, you will welcome visitors, manage access control, verify credentials, and support orderly entry and exit while documenting incidents and escalating concerns as needed. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license. At Allied Universal, you will deliver service with integrity, teamwork, and a caring culture that puts people first, while using clear communication to help reduce security-related issues.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff the front desk in a government setting by greeting and directing visitors, answering phones, and assisting with general inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Monitor access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and promptly notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Observe and report unusual activity at or near the front desk area to help to deter unauthorized access, including monitoring cameras and alarms when assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
