Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including inventory control, receiving, shipping, material handling, and logistics coordination. This role ensures efficient material flow to support manufacturing, production, field service, and customer delivery operations.

The Warehouse Manager will lead and develop warehouse personnel, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards while maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and on-time delivery.



Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management




  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and team members.



  • Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.



  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.



  • Coordinate staffing levels to meet operational demands.



  • Partner with Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Service departments to ensure alignment.





Warehouse Operations




  • Oversee daily receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping activities.



  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound materials.



  • Optimize warehouse layout and material flow to improve efficiency.



  • Manage cycle counts and annual physical inventory processes.



  • Ensure proper material handling, labeling, and storage practices.





Inventory Control & ERP Management




  • Maintain high inventory accuracy within ERP systems.



  • Implement inventory control procedures and best practices.



  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory.



  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Production Planning to maintain appropriate stock levels.





Logistics & Distribution




  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments.



  • Manage freight carriers and negotiate shipping rates when applicable.



  • Ensure proper documentation for shipments (BOLs, packing slips, export documentation).



  • Monitor shipping performance metrics and cost controls.





Safety & Compliance




  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.



  • Enforce safe operation of forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment.



  • Conduct safety training and audits.



  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse conditions.





Continuous Improvement




  • Identify process improvement opportunities using Lean principles.



  • Track and report KPIs (inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, order accuracy, productivity).



  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.



  • Standardize procedures and maintain updated SOPs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications




  • 5+ years of warehouse management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.



  • Strong understanding of inventory control, ERP systems, and material planning.



  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational setting.



  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and logistics coordination.



  • Forklift certification and knowledge of material handling equipment.



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel required).





Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience in industrial equipment, power generation, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing.



  • Lean or Six Sigma training.



  • Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).



  • CDL (preferred but not required).
